Gandalf the Mad was a king of the Vikings of the North and the father of Aaricia and Bjorn. He became the king of the Vikings after Leif Haraldson, Thorgal's adoptive father, died. Greedy, cruel and mad, he made repeated attempts at Thorgal's life, whom he perceived a threat to the legitimacy of his own rule.
Jorund the Bull became king of the Vikings after the death of Gandalf the Mad. It is not known how Gandalf died.
